What Is A Musarium?


The Allegheny Musarium will be a combination living museum and aquarium. It will be a one-of-a-kind attraction that will surprise and awe all visitors, not only with the fresh water aquarium, but also with the untapped educational resource of natural and social history of the Allegheny Plateau region. The Musarium will be located in Warren County, Pennsylvania. The projected opening date is 2012.

     ...It will include an aquarium depicting the fresh-water habitat of river life from the origin of the Allegheny River in northern Pennsylvania, its passage through southwestern New York to its confluence with the Ohio River in southwestern Pennsylvania.

     ...It will include a living museum depicting the history of the Seneca Nation, the timber, railroad and oil industries of the Allegheny River region, as well as showcasing the gilded age of Warren, PA in high-tech realism.

     ...It will include high-tech, state of the art exhibits as well as that natural flora and fauna of the region.

     ...It will contain a research and educational creative center, including a Children's Creative Discovery Building with a Hands-on-Learning Center and enrichment programs geared to visitors of all ages.

     ...It will house an Atrium full of living plants and butterflies indigenous to the Allegheny River area.

     ...It will promote conservation of aquatic life and habitat, and encourage public awareness of the much-needed preservation of our natural world.

     ...It will be a year-round indoor destination facility with special summer seasonal outdoor activities and events.


The conclusion of the journey will bring the visitors to the present.

A theater (possibly an IMAX)
